THE ANGLER'S
FLATS:
The well known resort town of Cancun is a great setting for the warm
weather travelers. Not so well known are the wonderful flats fishing
north of Cancun at Isla Blanca. The fishing
area is quite pristine and the anglers have a very good chance of getting
a super grand slam (tarpon, snook, permit
and bonefish) plus some other battlers in a single day of fishing. This
is light tackle fishing at its best for both the fly and the conventional
spin fishing anglers.
FISH SPECIES:
Targeted species are: Tarpon (10-40 lbs.), Permit (5-30 lbs.), Snook
(5-25 lbs.), Jack (3- 35 lbs.), Sea Trout (1-7 lbs.), Snapper (1-15
lbs.), Barracuda (2-45 lbs.), Baby Shark (3- 50 lbs.), etc.
FISHING SEASON:
This area is considered one of the best fishing spots in the world for
most fly and spin fishing anglers. The fishing area produces fish all
year, but during the winter months (Dec.-Feb.) due to the many cold
fronts we have the water in the lagoons gets a little too cold Permit
. However, all other species are present throughout the year. Peak months
for all fish species are March through September.
BOATS &
GUIDES:
Our guides are the only fishing guides in the area. There are only six
flats fishing boats and six guides that work in this area. Our guides
expertise and knowledge on fly and spin flats fishing are beyond any
fisherman expectation. Also, every single one of them knows how to put
anglers on top of fish all day long. All the six guides works exclusively
for our main outfitter office in Cancun.
RATES &
RESERVATIONS:
The daily angling rate for a full fishing day is: $385.00 US. (8 Hour
trip) per boat, per day for 1 or 2 anglers. Any extra angler. is $100.00
US. with a maximum of 3 anglers per boat trip. The rate includes an
experienced English-speaking fishing guide for either flyfishing or
spin casting. Included will be box lunch, soft drinks, plenty of purifified
bottled drinking water and ice. Spinning rods, reels, bait and shock
tippits are all included.
